Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy applies to Nyay Veda Law Chambers (“we”, “our”, “us”), a law chamber practising primarily before the Bombay High Court and subordinate courts in Maharashtra. The chamber is led by Adv. Nikhil Vinayakrao Bajpai, enrolled with the Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa.

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website, how we use it, and what rights you have under Indian law.

2. Data We Collect and Why

We collect only the personal data you voluntarily provide through our website forms. We do not collect data passively or through tracking.

  • Contact / Quick Enquiry Form: Name, phone number, and a brief description of your legal issue. Used solely to respond to your enquiry.
  • Consultation Booking Form: Name, phone number, email address, practice area concerned, preferred callback date, and description of your legal matter. Used to schedule and confirm a consultation.
  • Service Enquiry Form: Name, phone number, email address, and the service you are enquiring about. Used to follow up on your specific service request.

We do not collect sensitive personal data, financial information, Aadhaar numbers, or any data relating to minors.

3. How Your Forms Are Processed - Google Forms

Our website forms are hosted and processed by Google LLC(Google Forms). When you submit a form, your data is transmitted to and stored on Google's servers in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy. Google acts as a data processor on our behalf. Form submissions are delivered to our chamber inbox at nyayvedalawchamber@gmail.com.

This website also embeds Google Mapson the Contact page to display our office locations. Google Maps may set functional cookies under Google's own privacy policy. We have no access to or control over those cookies.

4. Cookie Policy

This website uses the following cookies:

  • Consent Cookie nyayveda_consent - A first-party cookie set when you interact with our cookie consent banner. Stores your preference (accepted / declined). Valid for 30 days. This cookie contains no personal data and is not shared with any third party.
  • Google Embeds (Third-Party)- Google Forms and Google Maps embedded on this site may set their own functional cookies under Google's Privacy Policy. These are set by Google's domain and are outside our control.

We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, tracking pixels, or any form of behavioural targeting. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar service.

You may decline cookie placement via our consent banner. You can also delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Declining cookies does not affect your ability to read or navigate this website; it only prevents Google's embedded services from setting their own cookies.

5. How We Use Your Data

Personal data submitted through our forms is used exclusively to:

  • Respond to your legal enquiry or consultation request.
  • Contact you by phone or email to discuss your matter.
  • Send you an acknowledgement of your submission where applicable.

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, automated decision-making, or any purpose other than the specific transaction you initiated.

6. Data Retention

Form submissions are received in our chamber email inbox. We retain email correspondence for a period of two (2) years from the date of receipt, after which it is deleted unless the matter has progressed to active legal representation. Data relating to active matters is retained for the duration of the retainer and for a period required by applicable professional conduct rules.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party, except:

  • Google LLC - as the processor of our embedded forms (see Section 3).
  • When required by law, court order, or a competent regulatory authority.

8. Attorney-Client Confidentiality

Any information you share with us in connection with a legal matter is protected by attorney-client privilege under the Advocates Act, 1961 and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam 2023. This protection is absolute, separate from, and in addition to this Privacy Policy.

9. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act, 2023

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access a summary of personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Request erasure of your personal data (subject to our legal obligations as advocates and applicable retention laws).
  • Withdraw consent for data processing at any time.
  • Nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf in the event of your death or incapacity.
  • File a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see Section 10) and, if unresolved, with the Data Protection Board of India.

As required under the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 and the DPDP Act 2023, we have designated a Grievance Officer to address data protection concerns:

11. Security

We take reasonable precautions to protect personal data transmitted via this website. However, no method of internet transmission is completely secure. We strongly advise against sharing highly sensitive personal information (such as financial data or Aadhaar numbers) via online forms - such matters should be discussed in person or via direct call.

12. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in law or our data practices. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
